El-Rufai, Abubakar to grace Environment Outreach Magazine lecture

Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State and the Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, are Special Guests of Honour at the 11th Annual Lecture/Awards Ceremony of the Environment Outreach Magazine. It will hold in Kaduna, the Kaduna State capital on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Themed “Utilising Renewable Energies to Combat Desertification: The Nigerian Experience”, the event will be chaired by Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura, a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and later Minister of Environment under the President Obasanjo administration.

Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, former Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria; former Vice Chancellor, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi; former Special Adviser to the President on Energy; former Vice Chair, World Energy Council; and currently Chairman, Ministry of Environment Technical Advisory Committee, will deliver the lecture.

His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Ibn Grema, Emir of Tikau Emirate and pioneer Chancellor, Yobe State University is Royal Father of the Day.

The occasion will also attract top government officials, Royal Fathers, representatives of NGOs and CSOs, environmentalists, the academia, organised private sector, researchers, students, farmers, media and the general public, according to Chief Noble U. Akenge, publisher of the magazine.

“The event will also feature the presentation of environmental and other awards to deserving Nigerians and institutions who have added value to our collective efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development in our dear country, Nigeria,” he added.
