The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) said on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, that plans have been concluded to construct Golden Jubilee Estates across the six-geo political zones of the country.
The Managing Director, FHA, Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, said this at the unveiling of the logo for the commemoration of the authority’s 50 years anniversary.
The theme of the celebration is “The Future of Housing in Nigeria, Celebrating 50 Years of FHA and its Impact on the Housing Sector”.
Ashafa said that the groundbreaking of the golden jubilee estate was done recently at the Mbora District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He said that the housing project would be realised through a Public Private Partnership (PPP), adding that many companies have lined up to be part of the project.
According to him, the project is going to be a 24 months project, and FHA will soon start inviting interested bidders who will be part of the construction.
“It will be a 20,000 unit housing estate project that will enable Nigerians to own their own houses through ‘rent-to-own approach’.
“The golden jubilee estate as the name implies will be permanent like that of Festac Town in Lagos.
“FHA will continue to maintain consistent delivery of quality houses,” he stressed.
Ashafa stated that the purpose of the celebration was to recognise and celebrate those who have been part of the success story of the authority over the years.
He also said that FHA was also celebrating the impact it had made in providing quality and affordable housing to Nigerians.
The authority recently performed a groundbreaking ceremony of 7,000 housing units in Mbora District of the FCT, under a PPP arrangement with Nuga Best Regis International.
