The Public Relations Officer of the association, Mr Adeniyi Osawaru, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Asaba, the state capital, that with the partnership there would be better enforcement.

Osawaru said that collaboration between the state government and stakeholders would enable the state to achieve its aims of providing cleaner and healthier environment for residents.

“The idea of the partnership is to raise awareness about environmental degradation and encourage sustainable waste disposal practice.

“Residents should embrace the culture of bagging of waste, a pivotal role in eliminating the challenge of indiscriminate waste dumping being experienced in some parts of the state.

“There is need for attitudinal change among residents regarding the way they treat the environment, and we should support the government in achieving cleaner environment in the state,” he said.

Osawaru also implored the populace to join hands with the present administration in the state to bequeath a healthier and cleaner environment.
