Amidst public outcry over the recurring incidents of building collapse in the country, federal and state governments have been called to urgently come up with and implement policies mandating the engagement of relevant experts in all stages of construction.
This was part of recommendations by at least 10 different professional bodies, during a public hearing on the collapsed three-storey building at 36, Massey Street, Ita-Faaji, Lagos Island that claimed many lives, mostly school children.
Correspondent, Innocent Onoh, reports that the forum was organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
