Minister of Environment, Dr Mohammad Mahmud Abubakar, commissioned low-pressure cooling machines in Lagos on September 22, 2020. The machines where then distributed to companies under the second stage of the Hydrofluorcarbon (HCFC) phase out plan.

Supported by UNIDO, the event held at the UNIDO regional office in Lagos. It was organised by the National Ozone Office, Federal Ministry of Environment.
The low-pressure cooling systems will help in reducing ozone depletion and subsequent harm to the environment by eliminating harmful HCFC substances thus mitigating climate change.
